SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE

This heavy-duty threaded rod cutter is designed for
professional applications.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of injury, only cut
materials for the cutting dies (see "Technical Data").
Do not attempt to cut other materials.
This product will cut off threaded rod cleanly and
burrfree, allowing nuts to be hand-threaded without
additional finishing. Workpiece quality, dirt, and scale
could affect the ability to hand-thread nuts.
NOTE: Use this product for cutting the sizes and
materials listed below. Other sizes or materials will
damage the product and workpiece.
DO NOT operate or use under wet conditions or in the
presence of flammable liquids or gases.
DO NOT use for cutting tempered bolts, threads of
different sizes, or reinforcing rod.
NOTE: The rod cutter has been designed so that the
nut threads onto the cut rod by hand. Thread quality,
surface finish (i.e., galvanized or plated), dirt, and
scale could affect the ability of the nut to thread freely
onto the cut rod.
WARNING! If the dies need to be opened without
completing the cycle, never release the main handle.
Use your other hand to press the reserve button until
the indicator lamp lights up. Put the hand back on the
workpiece and hold it securely. Then press the main
trigger until the product stops automatically to open
the dies.

USE
Always wear goggles when using the product.
2
Cutting dies are sharp. Keep hands away from cutting
edges and moving parts. Avoid cutting short pieces
of material that put hands near dies. Laceration and
3
amputation can occur.
During overhead use, ensure BOTH ends of the rod are
4
secure to avoid pieces falling when the cut is complete.
Cutting
5
1. Ensure that the cutting dies are aligned for the
proper rod size.
2. Ensure that the hex bolts are tightened securely.
6
3. Secure the workpiece, and mark the length of cut.
NOTICE: Align the material in jaws before cutting
10
to avoid damage to the product, cutting dies, and
workpiece. Use the marks above and below the
jaws to ensure the material is properly aligned.
4. Insert the battery pack.
5. Align the threaded rod, holding it firmly and
securely against the cutting groove in the fixed
cutting die.
6. Grasp the product firmly. Keeping hands clear of
the cutting dies, pull and hold the trigger. Ensure
that the rod is held straight during the cut.
7. Continue to pull and hold the trigger throughout the
operation. When the jaws fully open, the product
shuts off automatically. Release the trigger.
NOTE: The product will only enter reverse mode if the
jaws are NOT fully open.
Reverse Button
If the cutting jaws need to be opened without
completing the cutting cycle:
1. Release the trigger.
2. Press the reverse button. The button light will turn ON.
3. Pull the trigger and hold the product firmly until the
cutting jaws open fully.
NOTE: The product will only enter reverse mode if the
jaws are NOT fully open.
Jammed Cutting Dies
Dirt and debris can cause the cutting dies to become
jammed together after a cut. If the product shuts off
and the cutting jaws are still closed:
1. Press the reverse button and pull the trigger until
the cutting jaws open fully.
If this does not work,
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Remove, clean, and reinstall the cutting dies
according to "Removing/Replacing the Cutting Dies."
