Changing the needle plate

Sw itch off the main sw itch (1)
It is very important to clean your sew ing
machine, because it w ill rew ard you w ith
a longer service life. The more often you
use the machine, the more care it needs.
Removal:
• Raise the sew ing foot and remove the
removable accessory tray.
• Push the point of a small screw driver
into the opening betw een needle plate
and sew ing machine.
• Tw ist it lightly to the right and the
needle plate w ill snap half w ay
out of its mounting. N ow push the
screw driver into the left opening and
take the needle plate out.
Replacing:
• Place the needle plate on at at the
back and push it dow n w ith both
hands at the front until you hear it
snap in place. Before you start sew ing,
check that the needle plate is lying at.
Cleaning and oiling
Sw itch off the main sw itch (1)
• Remove the needle plate and low er the
feed dog.
• Clean the feed dog and hook area w ith
the brush.
• A pply a drop of oil (every 15 to 20
hours of operation) to the hook as
show n in the illustration.
Note: Use good quality sewing machine oil
only!
