8. TROUBLESHOOTING
8.1. WEAR ON THE BAR
If there are marks which indicate that the guide bar has been heated, as illustrated below, the
following causes are usually the reason behind it.

Probable cause
The operator has hit a reinforcing bar with
the long side of the bar.
The operator has hit a reinforcing bar longi-
tudinal with the nose of the bar.
Low water supply
Normal wear over time
Potential solution
Replace the guide bar with a new
one.
Use a ruler to check that the bar
is not bent; Put the ruler against
the guide bar nose. If the ruler
does not align to the guide bar
the guide bar must be replaced
othervise there will not be a
straight cut..
Increase the cooling water flow.
Replace the guide bar.
Replace the guide bar with a new
one.
