switching and axis motion. Commutation adjustment only needs to be carried
out on initial commissioning.
This procedure requires an absolute length measuring system.
Depending on the accessibility of the primary and secondary part in the ma‐
chine or system, the relative position of the primary to the secondary part
part
may be calculated in different ways:
a
Relative position reference point ①
b
Relative position reference point ②
l
Primary part length
p
Fig. 14-5:
Measuring of the relative position of the primary to the secondary
part
The position of the primary part must not be changed before the
procedure for commutation adjustment is completed!
The input value for P-0-0523 that is required for calculating the commutation
offset, is determined from the measured relative position of the primary part
with respect to the secondary part (Fig. 14-5, distance a or b, depending on
accessibility), and a motor-related constant k

Ensure that the sign is correct when you determine P-0-0523,
Commutation adjustment measured value. If P-0-0523 is deter‐
mined with a negative sign, this must also be entered in the be‐
ginning of the setting procedure.
