The ACI Spec 302.1R-96.
The Portland Cement Association (PCA) engineering bulletin, Concrete Floors on the ground, also
states:
Proper jointing can eliminate unsightly random cracks. Aspects of joining that lead to a good job are
choosing the correct type of joint for each location, establishing a good joint pattern and layout, and
installing the joint at the correct time. Timing of joint sawing is critical. Lightweight, high-speed, early-
cut saws have been developed to permit the joint sawing very soon after floorfinishing, sometimes
within 0 to 2 hours of finishing, so that random cracking can be controlled.
If the joints are not being cut within this time frame then the Early Entry method is not being followed.
Emergency Engine Shutdown

Place Engine Master Switch in
the OFF position.

Cleanup

CAUTION
NOTE:
Engine parts are extremely hot following use, allow engine to cool 1/2-hour before
cleaning. Use care during cleanup to avoid injury.
1. To extend operating life, the Early Entry Concrete Saw should be cleaned
following every use.
2. Using a garden hose or pressure washer is not advised as it can force water
into the air cleaner or muffler opening.
3. Use care when cleaning around electrical components.
Verify the engine is off and cool
before beginning to clean. Clean
the saw with soap and water.
