Bedrooms: Install a CO detector in every bedroom!
Corridors: Install a device in each corridor that leads to a bedroom.
Stairwell: Install a detector on each floor in the stairwell.
Living and working rooms
Rooms in which a high CO concentration enrichment is probable
Unsuitable mounting locations for CO alarms:
Note: An unsuitable location can cause disturbances, e.g. cause a false alarm. The sensors of the CO alarm
detector are damaged by the use in unsuitable locations e.g. due to high humidity.
Rooms with high humidity, e.g. in the bathroom or kitchen
Rooms which have a room temperature below -10°C or above 45°C.
Do not install in rooms where no air exchange is, e.g. in tops of vaulted ceilings or gable roofs or storage
rooms
Rooms with very dusty or very aerosolised air, e.g. due to hairspray, solvents, perfumes or paint. This can
block the air slots or damage the sensor of the CO alarm detector.
Near ventilation systems, chimneys or exhaust pipes as well as doors and windows, as this may have a
lower carbon monoxide concentration.
Behind curtains, furniture or other objects. The carbon monoxide must be able to reach the CO alarm
detector unimpeded in order to be able do detect it reliably.
Inserting or changing the batteries (Fig.3):
As soon as a short beep sounds every minute, the batteries are too weak and must be replaced
immediately!
To open the battery compartment, remove the mounting bracket by sliding it to the side.
Then insert the batteries supplied into the battery compartment. Please note the correct polarity
Then push the mounting bracket back onto the housing to close the battery compartment. After inserting
the batteries, the 3 LED control lamps light up briefly and a short beep sounds. After a short warm-up
phase of approx. 30 seconds, this unit is ready for operation. Note: The mounting bracket can only be
attached when the batteries are inserted. This is to prevent the CO detector from being mounted without
the batteries, which would make it non-functional.
Perform a function test after each replacement or new use of the batteries (see chapter "Start up")!
