oPERATIoN

1. Select the weighing unit of measure (kg, lb or st) with the key located on
the bottom of the scale. It is possible to select the unit of measure if the
scale is turned off as well as it is turned on.
2. Place the scale on a flat, hard surface. If the floor is loose or uneven (e.g.
mats, carpets, linoleum) the exactness of your weight is not guaranteed.
3. Press the centre of the scale to turn it on. On the display screen appears
"CAL".
4. Wait a few seconds and when "0" (or "0.0") appears on the display
screen, the scale is ready for use.
5. Step onto the scale with your feet parallel and your weight equally dis-
tributed (see illustrations), before the zeros disappear. Stand still while
the scale measures your weight.
Do not lean on anything while being weighed as this could alter the read-
ing.
6. Step off the scale; the display screen will continue to show your weight
for a few seconds then the scale will turn itself off automatically.
WARNING
• When the display screen shows "LO" or the symbol of the battery, it's
necessary to replace the batteries bearing in mind the polarity indicated
(+) / (-).
• In case of overweight, the display screen shows "O-Ld", remove the weight
from the scale to avoid any damage of the mechanism.
• When the display screen shows "Err", step off the scale, wait a few se-
conds and weight again.
BATTERY INSTAllATIoN / REPlACEmENT
This scale operates with replaceable batteries.
1. Insert three 1,5 V AAA alkaline batteries in the battery compartment at
the bottom of the scale, bearing in mind the polarity indicated.
2. When the batteries are discharged the display will show either "LO" or
the battery symbol. Remove the batteries if the scale are not to be used
for a prolonged period of time. Always dispose of the batteries in the
special containers.
ClEANING
• Clean the platform with a damp cloth.
• Clean the bottom of the scale with just a soft dry cloth.
• To clean the scale never use chemical or abrasive products.

REPAIRS/DISPoSAl
• Repairs to electrical appliances must only be carried out by a qualified
electrical technician. If improper repairs are carried out, the guarantee
lapses and all liability is refused.
• Never operate the appliance after it has malfunctioned, if it has been
dropped or has been damaged in any other way (cracks/breaks in the cas-
ing).
• Do not push any object into the appliance, do not disassemble the ap-
pliance.
• If the appliance is beyond repair, make it unusable immediately and hand
it in at the collection point provided for the purpose.
• Do not dispose of electrical appliances in the domestic waste. Please use
the communal collection points.
• Ask your local authority if you do not know where the communal collec-
tion points are located.
• If electrical appliances are disposed of thoughtlessly, exposure to the ele-
ments may cause hazardous substances to find their way into the ground-
water and from there into the food chain, or to poison the flora and fauna
for many years to come.
• If you are replacing the appliance with a new one, the seller is legally
obliged to take back the old one at least free of charge for disposal.
