7.To conserve the limited air supply of the PEEBD1206, perform a pre-issue inspection of the 2 Stage Regulator purge while it is connected to the supply cylinder as follows: b. Briefly depress the purge button to ensure that sufficient airflow is provided to clear the Stage Regulator.
Cover/Retainer for the 2 Stage Regulator Mouthpiece The 2 Stage Regulator incorporates a feature that enables the User to fit the Mouthpiece into a Cover/Retainer to be attached to the Survival Vest/Harness. This allows the 2 Stage Regulator to be easily removed from the Cover/Retainer when required for use The mouthpiece-to-body default position is horizontal which allows hose to route either to the right or left of the 2...
Prior to IssueInspection Before each use, the unit must be given a thorough visual inspection and functional test by a qualified User. V i s u a l l y I n s p e c t the low-pressure hose to ensure it is securely connected to its respective port on the 1 Stage and 2 Stage Regulator.

Remove the protective rubber cover from the 1 Stage Regulator. Remove the Cover/Retainer from the 2 Stage Regulator. Pressurize the PEEBD by opening the Control Knob valve. Using a leak detection fluid lightly cover all connections on the PEEBD to check for any signs of leakage from the 2 Stage Regulator, hose, pressure gauge, safety disc assembly, 1 Stage Regulator, and cylinder neck (indicated by the...
Pre-FlightInspection Pre-Flight Inspections shall be performed on the PEEBD units prior to each flight by the aircrew member to whom the command has assigned. PEEBD Pre-Flight Inspection procedures are as follows: NOTE: Strict compliance with Pre-Flight and Post-Flight Inspections of the PEEBD unit shall be adhered to by all aircrew members using any PEEBD units.
Post-FlightInspection After use of the PEEBD, turn the Control Knob off (clockwise), so that red indicator ring is visible at the base ofthe Control Knob Check the PEEBD for signs of damage and contamination. If there are any signs of damage, report any discrepancies to maintenance personnel, remove the item from service, and clearly tag the item with a NON-RFI tag.
Care &Maintenance/Sustainment It is important to provide the correctpreventative maintenance/sustainment in order to ensure the best possible performance and reliability of the PEEBD.The following maintenance procedures should be performed routinely after each use of the equipment. After in-water training in either Salt or Chlorinated Water, the PEEBDshallbe cleaned, inspected, and prepared for the next use, or for storage.
Inspection &Service A PEEBD stored in an environmentally controlled facility, shall notbe considered to be ingood working order since it was last serviced. It is recommended that the PEEBD receive an Annual Inspection every 12-months by an OEM Approved Inspection facility. If the PEEBDis used regularly for training purposes in saltwater, chlorinated, or silted fresh water, the PEEBD will require an OEM Approved Inspectionevery three-months, or whenever it is suspected that moisture has entered the system.

Hydrostatic Testing Waiver: a. The following Poseidon Spare Air Systems are not subject to US DoT Cylinder Hydrostatic Testing Standards (or any other published Standard) since cylinders not exceeding 2 inches outside diameter and less than 2 feet in length are excepted from volumetric expansion test.
Mouthpiece and Cover/Retainer shall be sanitized. When in service the 2 Stage Regulator Mouthpiece and Cover/Retainer should be sanitized at regular intervals to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination Poseidon Sanitizing Agent (P/N PEEBD10900) is available in a 5ltr concentrated volume.
