Service – 200 hours
Replace socket pins
Check the condition of the socket pins and
replace male and female contacts if these
show signs of corrosion or other damage.
Also replace the frame with earth connec-
tion. A good earth contact is important for
high frequency motors of this type.
Replace bearings in the pivoting arm
After 200 hours of operation, it is probably
time to replace the bearings in the pivoting
arm. These are 10 in number.
The work is fairly extensive and in this
context it is appropriate that the slip torque
on the two rollers is checked and adjusted
wherever necessary.
Note that the relative positions of the
rollers must be adjusted and fitted in the
correct position. As the final phase, the
rollers must be synchronized.
All gaskets and seals that are affected by
the work must be replaced.
Blade flange hub
The condition of the blade flange hub is
extremely important for personal safety.
Check and replace any worn parts.
1. Particularly check the bearing that is
exposed to heavy loads. The bearing must
not under any circumstances be loose.
Replace the bearing if its performance is in
doubt.
2. It is important that the two seals are
replaced and greased thoroughly.
3. The plate, that has control grooves to the
blade guard, may be worn and not be provi-
ding adequate control. Replace the plate if it
is worn.
