Fit the bearing
1. Support the saw head on a stable surface.
2. Apply Loctite 648 to the bearing's outer
ring.
3. Fit the bearing by pushing on its outer
ring or use the brass mandrel and tap it into
place.
4. Turn the saw head. Clean and check tho-
roughly that the inside is free from scratches
and burrs.
Divide the unit
5. The previously mounted unit must now
be divided into two parts for assembly in the
saw head.
Lift off the slip clutch together with the
axial bearings at the top and bottom.
The unit on the left is the transmission for
the carriage feed and the unit to the right
transfers the power to the motion of the
pivoting arm.
Fit the axial bearing
6. Put the axial bearing in place in the saw
head. Centre the bearing and the two bearing
washers carefully. (The lubricant helps to
keep the parts in place during assembly.)
Fit the slip clutch
7. Lower the slip clutch in the saw head with
the pressure plate upwards.
