POTENTIOMETER

Installing Connectors

Attach the red ring terminal to the BLACK wire and the red butt connectors to the BLUE and YELLOW wires and connect the
BLUE and YELLOW wires of the wiring loom to the controller. Attach the yellow butt connectors to the large RED wires

Mounting the Controller

Use the two # 6 self tapping screws and washers to mount the controller away from the exhaust manifold and other heat
sources

Low Power Connections

The BLACK wire should be grounded, the mounting screw provides a convenient ground point if the controller is mounted to
the chassis.
The YELLOW wire can be connected byway of a fuse to the battery positive terminal for cool down after shutting off the
engine or to any ignition switched source for immediate shut down with the engine. The maximum draw on this input is less
than one Ampere.
The BLUE wire should be connected to the AC compressor clutch, when 12V is applied to this wire, the LOW FAN relay is
forced on.

Temperature Sensor

Plug the temperature sensor into the two-pin connector of the controller. The temperature sensor should be mounted on the top-
hose side of a cross flow radiator (tanks on the side) about half way from the top to the bottom of the radiator. On a down flow
radiator (tanks on the top and bottom), the sensor should be mounted at the top of the radiator, about midline horizontally.

High Power Connections

The BATTERY + input should be connected byway of a proper sized fuse for the fan current rating to the battery positive
The LOW FAN output should be connected to the low speed circuit on a Ford two speed fan using a yellow butt connector
The HIGH FAN output should be connected to the high speed circuit on a Ford two speed fan using a yellow butt connector.
The negative input to the fan should be grounded to the frame or the battery.

Temperature Adjustment

The temperature is initially set to turn the low speed circuit on at 180° F, but can be adjusted +/- 30 degrees byway of the
potentiometer. Each turn clockwise raises the temperature by 3 1/2 degrees, each turn counter-clockwise by 3 ½ degrees.
