Notes:
• Touch only the edges of the microprocessor. Do not touch the gold contacts on the bottom.
• Do not drop anything onto the microprocessor socket while it is exposed. The socket pins must be kept
as clean as possible.
Replacement procedure
1. Remove the computer cover. See "Computer cover" on page 60.
2. Remove the front bezel. See "Front bezel" on page 61.
3. Remove the drive bay assembly. See "Drive bay assembly" on page 64.
4. Remove the heat sink and fan assembly. See "Heat sink and fan assembly" on page 95.
5. Unlock the microprocessor socket.
6. Pivot the microprocessor socket upward.
