Protecting Your Mazda
To restart after parking on an incline:
1. Apply the brake pedal and hold it.
2. With the transmission in P (Park)
(automatic) or with the clutch de-
pressed (manual), start the engine.
(With an automatic transmission, be
sure to depress and hold the brake
pedal.)

3. Shift into gear.
4. Release the parking brake (also the
foot brake on vehicles with automatic
transmissions) and move the vehicle
uphill to free the wheel chocks. Stop
and apply the foot brake.
5. Have a helper retrieve the chocks.
Vehicle Information Labels
Vehicle Identification Number
The vehicle identification number
legally identifies your vehicle. It's on a
plate attached to the left top side of the
dashboard. This plate can easily be seen
through the windshield.
