Onboard Peripherals

In the Onboard Peripherals menu you can make the settings for the serial and parallel ports. In the
Onboard Device Settings submenu you can make settings for specific onboard controller. To display
Onboard Device Settings you must enter the main menu and switch to Advanced level with [F8]

Parallel Port Operation Mode Settings
This field is used to specify whether the parallel port is to be used as a bi-directional input/output
port or just as an output port. ECP and EPP transfer modes allow faster transfer rates of 2 and 2.4
Mbytes/s. These modes will only work with peripheral devices which support them.

Extended Capabilities Port (ECP)
ECP DMA Channel
This item becomes active only if you select Extended Capabilities Port (ECP) as the operation mode.
It allows you to assign DMA channel 1 or DMA channel 3 for the ECP parallel port function (as
required in Windows 98).
