10.2 Disabling the DHCP Server

If the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is disabled, the Huawei
B890 4G LTE Smart Hub does not allocate IP addresses to devices connected to it
and IP addresses must be entered from each device.
Procedure
Step 1 Choose Settings > DHCP > DHCP.
Step 2 From DHCP server, select Disable to disable the DHCP server.
Step 3 Click Apply.

10.3 Configuring DHCP Devices

If the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is enabled, certain settings
must be configured from devices.
Context
Configuration on a Windows XP operating system is used as an example.
Procedure
Step 1 Choose Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network
Connection.
Step 2 Right-click the Network Connection icon and choose Properties.
Step 3 Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
Step 4 In the Network Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, select Obtain an IP
address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
Step 5 Click OK.

In Subnet mask, enter a subnet mask. For example, 255.255.255.0.
Select Enable to enable the DHCP server.
In Start IP address, enter a start IP address. For example, 192.168.20.100.
In End IP address, enter an end IP address. For example, 192.168.20.200.
In DHCP lease time (s), enter a lease time. For example, 1 day.
Click Apply.
