DELUXE ELECTRIC MISTRESS
FLANGER/FILTER MATRIX
Congratulations on your purchase of the Deluxe Electric Mistress, a true
stand out classic in the Electro-Harmonix line-up! Over the past four
decades, guitarists spanning numerous genres have relied on the Deluxe
Electric Mistress to broaden their guitar's sound pallet, making their guitar
sound bigger, lusher and even a little ethereal.
You might notice that the Deluxe Electric Mistress that came with this
manual is quite a bit smaller than every other Deluxe Electric Mistress ever
made by Electro-Harmonix. The circuit remains true to its roots even though
we've reduced its footprint to fit into a pedalboard friendly die-cast box.
Power is now supplied by 9VDC, both from the included AC Adaptor or from
a battery, but the voltage is boosted internally to the higher voltage normally
preferred by the Deluxe Electric Mistress. True Bypass and LED indication
have also been added.
WARNING: Your Deluxe Electric Mistress comes equipped with an Electro-Harmonix
9.6DC-200 power supply (same as used by Boss
®
& Ibanez
®
: 9.6 Volts DC 200mA).
The Deluxe Electric Mistress requires up to 40mA at 9VDC with a center negative
plug. Using the wrong adaptor may damage your unit and void the warranty. The
Deluxe Electric Mistress also accepts 9V batteries, we recommend alkaline.
RATE Knob – controls the speed of flanger modulation. As you turn RATE
clockwise, the flanger's speed increases. Higher settings of RATE give the
effect a sound like vibrato.
RANGE Knob – allows you to set the lower limit of the flanger sweep. A
fully counter-clockwise setting, where the lower limit is just below the higher,
creates a very narrow sweeping effect. As you turn RANGE clockwise the
flanger sweeps down further into the bass region. A convincing rotating
speaker effect may be obtained by setting RATE near maximum, RANGE near
minimum, and COLOR approximately half-way.
COLOR Knob – sets the intensity of the flanger effect. As you turn COLOR
clockwise the effect becomes more pronounced, producing that classic
whoosh effect flangers are famous for.
