    Introduction Scope of delivery The RD10 HB display allows operation under extreme environmental conditions. All interfaces and slots are covered. The casing provides a maximum of protection against shock, vibration, dust and humidity. Technical details are listed in chapter „3 Specifications“.

     1.3 Commissioning • Remove the RD10 HB from the packaging and set it on a surface with the bottom side facing up. • If appropriate attach the RD10 HB to the fitting mounting solution. Screws (M6 for mounting) are not part of the standard RD10 HB scope of delivery.

    2.4 Switching ON The RD10 HB is equipped with a power ON delay to avoid switching ON/OFF the display by accident. In order to switch ON the display, the power ON/OFF button must be pressed for approx. 5 seconds without interruptions.

    2.10 USB Interfaces The RD10 HB is equipped with an USB hub with 2 USB interfaces at the rear side to allow the use of ad- ditional peripheral devices like USB keyboards or USB sticks. The USB interfaces can’t be used to connect the touch screen or trackball to any external PC or notebook.

    2.12 Invisible Mode (manual or wire contact) The RD10 HB is equipped with a manual and wire contact triggered Invisible Mode function. With the help of this function the brightness of the display can immediately be set to a predefined value either via keystroke or wire contact trigger.
  • Page 23: Inverting Invisible Mode Function

    The device is now reset to factory defaults. 2.13 NVIS For operation together with IE NV goggles the RD10 HB can be switched into NVIS mode. The brightness of the display will be reduced to a very low, user defined value.
  • Page 24: Additional Controls

    ON/OFF remotely with the RD10 HB ON/OFF button. Please note: in this case the power ON/OFF delay of the RD10 HB is still in place. To shut ON/OFF the notebook the RD10 HB’s ON/OFF button must be pressed for approx. 5 seconds without interruption. Also the display itself can be shut ON/OFF with the ON/OFF button of the notebook (no delay circuit).

    • Connect the C5 connector with the C6 power inlet of the adapter. • Plug AC plug of the AC line into the wall outlet. • Attach the DC plug to the DC-In connector of the RD10 HB, turn the lock ring clockwise to secure it. 2.18.1.3 AC/DC adapter power LED The green power LED indicates the AC/DC adapter is ready for operation.

    2.19 Picture in Picture (PIP) The RD10 HB offers a PIP function to process and display 2 video sources simultaneously. The primary display (PD) will show a DVI or VGA (RGB) signal, the secondary display (SD) will show the (composite) video signal.

    If the input of the touch screen is imprecise, the touch screen can be calibrated with the device driver’s calibration application. If the roda driver suite is used, the calibration application can be found in the start menu. Click “Start”  “All Programs”  “UDDP”  “Calibrate” and follow the instructions. For optimal touch screen operation the reading points should be touched as accurate as possible.
