Touchpad assembly description and part number
Description
Touchpad assembly (includes cable)
Before removing the touchpad assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly
2.
Place the computer in Battery Safe mode
3.
Remove the bottom cover
4.
Remove the battery
Remove the touchpad assembly:
1.
Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad (1).
2.
Lift the cable to remove it from the adhesive that secures it to the touchpad (2).
3.
Lift the silver tape from the touchpad (3).
4.
Remove the six broad head Phillips M2.0×2.0 screws (4) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
5.
Lift the touchpad out of the computer (5).
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad assembly.
