STARTING THE ENGINE
See Figures 12 - 14.
NOTICE:
On a level surface with the engine off, check the lubricant
level before each use of the generator.
NOTE: If location of generator is not level, the unit may not
start or may shut down during operation.
 Unplug all loads from the generator.
 Turn the fuel valve to the ON (I) position.
 Turn the on/off switch ON ( l ).
 Pull the choke out to the START position.
NOTE: If engine is warm or the temperature is above
50˚F, push the choke in to the RUN position.
 Press the start button to start the engine.
NOTE: The LCD display must be on for the engine to
be started with the start button. If the LCD display is off,
press and release the pairing button or toggle the on/off
switch off and on.
NOTE: The battery may require charging before the gen-
erator can be started using only the start button. Until
then, the generator can be started by pulling the recoil
starter grip. Once the generator is started, the battery will
charge as the unit runs.
 The generator can also be started by pulling the recoil
starting grip until the engine runs.
NOTE: Do not allow the grip to snap back after starting;
return it gently to its original place.
 Allow the engine to run for 15-30 seconds, then move
the choke to the RUN position.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
See Figures 12 - 13.
To stop the engine under normal operating conditions:
 Remove any load from the generator.
 Turn the fuel valve to the OFF (O) position.
OPERATION
 Turn the on/off switch OFF ( O ).
To stop the engine in an emergency situation:
 Put the on/off switch in the OFF (O) position.
WARNING:
While operating and storing, keep at least 3 feet of
clearance on all sides of this product, including overhead.
Allow a minimum of 30 minutes of "cool down" time
before storage. Heat created by muffler and exhaust
gases could be hot enough to cause serious burns and/
or ignite combustible objects.

 Download the Black Max MAXCONTROL
iOS or Android Bluetooth
 Open the MAXCONTROL
as shown.
NOTE: Make sure Bluetooth
 Turn the on/off switch ON (I). Push and hold the "Push
and Hold to Pair" button below the LCD panel on the
generator until the LCD panel displays "Pairing Mode."
 The LCD screen on the generator and the app on your
device will indicate a successful pairing.
NOTE: If the generator and app do not pair, make sure that
"Pairing Mode" is displayed during the pairing process
and that Bluetooth
 Press the menu icon in the top left corner of the app
screen. This will show you the available features that can
be controlled through the app.
