Enterprise Performance 10K HDD v8 (Serial Attached SCSI) disk drives. Seagate Enterprise Performance 10K HDD drives support the SAS Protocol specifications to the extent described in this manual. The Self-Encrypting Drive Reference Manual, part number 100515636, describes the interface, general operation, and security features available on Self-Encrypting Drive models. -

When transporting or shipping a drive, use only a Seagate-approved container. Keep the original box. Seagate approved containers are easily identified by the Seagate Approved Package label. Shipping a drive in a non-approved container voids the drive warranty. Seagate repair centers may refuse receipt of components improperly packaged or obviously damaged in transit. 10.2 Dual port support Seagate Enterprise Performance 10K HDD SAS drives have two independent ports. These ports may be connected in the same or different SCSI domains. Each drive port has a unique SAS address. The two ports have the capability of independent port clocking (e.g. both ports can run at 12Gb/s or the first port can run at 12Gb/s while the second port runs at 3Gb/s.)
