Tensioning the V belt:
Your Pacifica Wheel was shipped with proper tension however, over time, with use, it may lose some of
that tension and will need to be adjusted. To adjust the tension on the belt, follow the guide below or
visit Laguna Clay Company's You Tube Chanel for step by step video instructions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw5cpbXNc24
Turn off and unplug your wheel before beginning.
Turn wheel up onto its back 2 legs (as shown in Figure 1). NEVER PLACE WHEEL UPSIDE DOWN
ON THE WHEEL HEAD.
Remove the bottom cover (as shown in Figures 2 &3).
There should be one half to one inch of deflection when the belt is firmly pushed (as shown
figure 4).
Note: A properly tensioned belt should deflect ½ to 1 inch. Less than ½ inch could stress and
break the motor shaft; more than 1 inch may result in the belt slipping and squeaking.
CAUTION: OVER TENSIONING THE BELT MAY CAUSE THE MOTOR SHAFT TO BREAK. DO NOT
OVER TENSION.
To increase tension on the belt, loosen the nuts of the lag bolts under the motor mount (as
shown in figures 5 & 6) then, tighten the bolts on the top of the motor mount.
