Triggers and Reading

The trigger mode and large reading memory on HDM3000 series digital
multimeters provide a wide range of applications for them.
Instrument trigger mode
The result of the trigger is that the measurement results are collected on a digital
multimeter. This section describes how to configure triggers for continuous
measurement mode.
Click [Acquire] to open the following menu:
The main purpose of the above menu is to allow you to configure the measurement
trigger, you can also use the VMC Out soft key to set the edge slope of the VM Comp
(voltmeter complete) output on the rear panel of the instrument. This connector emits
a signal whenever the voltmeter completes a measurement, allowing you to send
signals to other devices in the measurement system.
Note: To accurately display statistics for AC measurements in front panel
mode, you must use the default manual trigger Delay ([Acquire] >Delay
Man).
You can select one of the following three trigger sources from the (Trg Src) menu:
Auto - This instrument makes continuous measurements and will automatically
emit a new trigger as soon as a measurement is completed.
SINGLE - This instrument will emit a trigger every time the [SINGLE] key on the
front panel is pressed.
EXT - This instrument will emit a trigger each time the appropriate slope reaches
the EXT Trig connector on the rear panel. You can specify the slope on the soft key
menu that will be displayed when Trg Src is set to Ext.
In Single, Ext mode, you can use the Samples/Trigger soft key to specify the number
of Samples to be sampled per Trigger.
