To protect the objective lens from scratches and dust, the spotting scope has a lens cap over the front of the tube. Once the lens
cap is removed the lens shade can be extended forward to prevent unwanted glare. The lens cap simply press fits onto the front of
the spotting scope and can be removed by gently
pulling it forward.

Your spotting scope comes with a table top tripod
to support it for more stable viewing. To set up the
tripod:
Fan out each tripod leg 120° apart until they come
to a stop.
Place the spotting scope on top of the mounting
platform and thread the tripod mounting screw into
the hole in the bottom of the tube.

Turn the focusing knob until the image is sharp. If the
knob will not turn, the focuser has reached the end of its
travel on the focusing mechanism. Turn the knob in the
opposite direction until the image is sharp. Once an
image is in focus, turn the knob counterclockwise to
focus on a closer object and clockwise for a more distant
object.
Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or
with your spotting scope. Permanent and irreversible
eye damage may result.
