The hobs have been provided with radiant electric heaters.
These heaters are incorporated under the surface of the
hob as zones which redden while they are in use:
A. cooking area.
B. lights which indicate whether the corresponding heaters
are at a temperature in excess of 60°C - even when
the electrical supply has been switched off i.e. residual
heat.

Double-diameter radiant heaters
From a functional point of view these are similar to con-
ventional radiant heaters, but are easily recognisable
because of their double heating zone. You can cook with
the inside zone only or with both.
The control knobs
Each of the hob's heating zones is equipped with a switch
that regulates its temperature from a minimum value of 1
up to a maximum of 12. The following chart shows the
correspondence between the positions of the knob and
the different types of cooking.
glass hobs with double-power heating zones, the first part
of the knob's range heats only the smaller (inside) zone.
To activate both of them in order to create a larger heating
zone, turn the button to the position
the desired power level from 1 to 12.

Use of the hob
To obtain the best cooking results from your hob there are
a few basic rules to follow when cooking or preparing to
cook.
Use pans with a level and even base as this ensures
full contact of the bottom of the pan to the ceramic
heat zones.
Use pans with a large enough diameter to completely
cover the heat zone as this ensures the most efficient
use of the heat.
Always ensure that the bases of the pans are dry and
clean as this allows good contact and will prolong the
life of your ceramic hob and pans.
Never use the same utensils on gas burners as on
ceramic hobs. The heat concentration of the gas burner
distorts even the thickest of pan bases and thus it is
impossible to obtain satisfactory results from such a
pan on your ceramic hob.
