E
different lighting conditions. However, you can use the preset modes to reproduce
colours more accurately, or set a custom white balance to obtain the optimal setting.

❍ In the Easy Recording mode, white balance is preset to [AUTO]. Indoor,
outdoor and custom white balance cannot be selected.
❍ The camcorder retains the custom white balance setting even if you turn it off.
However, it resets to [AUTO] when you change the position of the TAPE/CARD
switch.
❍ When you have set the custom white balance:
- Reset the white balance when the lighting condition changes.
- Turn off the digital zoom.
❍ Setting the white balance manually may provide better results in the following
cases:
- Changing lighting conditions
- Close-ups
- Subjects in a single colour (sky, sea or forest)
- Under mercury lamps or certain types of fluorescent lights
❍ Use the T Indoor or U Outdoor mode in the following cases:
T Indoor:
- Changing lighting condition
- Under video light
- Under sodium lamps
U Outdoor:
- For night scenes or fireworks
- Sunrise or sunset
* Use the auto setting for normal outdoor scenes.
