Installation Procedures - Motorola MTP6000 CAR KIT Installation Manual

On some vehicles, it is necessary to penetrate the bulkhead
to reach the battery. Ensure that there is cable clearance on
the opposite side of the bulkhead and that the vehicle ECM
are not installed on the opposite side of the bulkhead before
drilling commences. Protect the cable where it passes
through the bulkhead by using a grommet or similar protective
measures.

Installation Procedures

The following sections explain the installation of each kit or
part. It is laid in the suggested order as below:
1. Vehicular Cradle (PMLN7026 or PMLN6399)
2. Antenna Kit
3. MTP6000 Car Kit Junction Box (PMLN6662)
4. Power Cable (30012040002)
5. Accessories Kit
Vehicular Cradle Installation
Note: Always use the supplied fastening hardware to rigidly
secure the cradle. An unsecured cradle could cause a
unit to move and interfere with the proper operation of
the vehicle and the cradle must be mounted in such a
way that the TETRA MTP6000 Series Handportable
Terminal is within easy reach of the driver during
normal operation of the vehicle.
Note: Sufficient room should be allowed to permit the
insertion of the TETRA MTP6000 Series Handportable
Terminal and provide easy access to the release
mechanism of the TETRA MTP6000 Series
Handportable Terminal from the cradle/holder.
