PROBLEM
●
Clutch is slipping or drum is
jammed or stopped.
●
Engine speed is too slow.
Belts are slipping.
●
Knife is dull.
●
Gap between knife & anvil plate
is too great.
●
The gap between the knife and
anvil plate is set incorrectly.
●
Inner shoes of clutch worn.
●
Retaining springs weak or
broken.
●
Loose drive belt.
CORRECTION
●
Immediately stop engine.
Remove spark plug wires.
●
Turn drum by hand to be sure it
turns freely.
●
Check belt tension.
●
Clear chipper chamber.
●
Run engine at full throttle.
●
Check for loose or missing belt
and tighten.
●
Remove blade & sharpen.
●
Adjust gap as per instructions.
●
Adjust gap per directions in the
front of this section.
●
Replace worn clutch.
●
Check belt tension.
●
Clear chipper chamber.
