2. Safety Instructions

• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not
accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
• Keep this device away from rain and moisture.
• Choose a well-ventilated location out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat, vibration, high humidity or excessive
dust. Never cover or obstruct the ventilation slots.
• Do not insert any foreign objects into the device.
• Do not open the housing. Never put heavy objects or objects containing liquids on top of the device.
• Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.
• Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if necessary.
• Disconnect the device from the mains to clean it or when it is not in use. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
• Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
3. Connection
See page 2 for a connection example.
• TV1 RCA jacks are identical to the TV1 SCART connection.
• The SCART connections and the RCA jacks on the front panel are parallel.
• Connect a second VCR to the DVD SCART connection (TV2 button released = video same as VCR SCART; TV2 button
depressed = video same as TV1 output).
• Connect RGB or S-VHS equipment to the SCART inputs.

4. Operation

• Smart Automatic Switching
o The VAS5R will automatically track down on all active video inputs and switch to the correct input. When all inputs
are turned off, the console will switch to the TV set.
o The console will automatically switch to the front AUX inputs and disable the back panel inputs when plugging into the
front panel.
