Hardware Installation

Before You Begin
Observe the following precautions to help
prevent shutdowns, equipment failures, and
personal injury:
Install the DIR-825 in a cool and dry place.
Install the DIR-825 in a site free from strong
electromagnetic sources, vibration, dust,
excessive moisture, and direct sunlight.
Place in an unobstructed area with a clear
mobile signal. Avoid metal boxes, brick
walls, and other dense materials.
Visually inspect the power connector and
make sure that it is fully secure.
Do not stack any devices on top of the
DIR-825.
Setting Up the DWP-812KT
The DIR-825 is designed to connect to a 4G
LTE network through the DWP-812KT. Check
that you have an active LTE SIM card from your
service provider.
1.
Unscrew the covers from the SIM card slot
and Ethernet LAN port on the bottom
panel of the DWP-812KT.
2.
Insert an active LTE SIM card into the SIM
card slot.

3.
Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port
on the bottom panel of the DWP-812KT,
threading it through the hole on the
Ethernet cover. Connect the other end to
the PoE port on the included PoE injector.
4.
Replace both covers on the bottom panel
of the DWP-812KT.

1.
Ensure that the DWP-812KT is powered on
and set up with an active SIM card. (Refer
to Setting Up the DWP-812KT below.)
2.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the WAN
port on the rear panel of the DIR-825 to the
data port on the PoE injector.
3.
Connect the power adapter to the power
input on the DIR-825 and plug the adapter
into a nearby power outlet.
