    Gewiss Safety 3. Safety This section describes the safety warnings and the Personal Protective Equipment used in the unit. 3.1. Safety conditions General warnings The operations described in the manual may be performed only by qualified personnel. The status of qualified personnel referred to in this manual will be, as a minimum, that which meets all the standards, regulations and laws regarding safety applicable to the tasks of installing and operating this unit.

    Safety Gewiss Carry out all operations and handling without voltage. As a minimum security measure in this operation, you must always follow the so-called 5 golden rules: Disconnect. Prevent any possible feedback. Check there is no voltage. Ground and short circuit.

    Keep the unit in its packaging until immediately before installation. 4.2. Equipment identification The serial number of the equipment is its unique identifier. You must quote this number in any communication with Gewiss. The unit’s serial number is marked on the specifications plate. 4.3. Transport damage If the unit has been damaged during transport, proceed as follows: Do not proceed with the installation.

    Gewiss Installing and connecting the unit 7. Installing and connecting the unit Before installing the unit, the packaging must be removed, taking special care not to damage the housing. Check that there is no condensation inside the packaging. If there are signs of condensation, the unit must not be installed until you are sure it is completely dry.

    Installing and connecting the unit Gewiss 7.2. JOINON Home 7.2.1. Installing the unit In order to mount the unit, it is necessary to install a support on the wall using three fastening elements. After carrying out this operation, hang the unit from the support.

    Gewiss Installing and connecting the unit In the event that it is not installed at the bottom of the unit, the support must be secured to the wall as shown in the following image. Check that the unit properly secured.

Connect the power cables to the terminal block as shown in the following figure. The terminal blocks are clamp type.

    Gewiss Installing and connecting the unit Screw the bottom cover onto the unit and tighten the packing glands in order to correctly secure the cable. When the charging station has been charging for two seconds its LEDs will light up red, blue and green. After a brief status check, the light turns to green.

  • Page 22 Gewiss Installing and connecting the unit Connect the power cables to the terminal block as shown in the following figure. The terminal blocks are clamp type. Insert a flat-head screwdriver to free it and insert the cable in the indicated hole. Tighten it using the screwdriver.

After briefly verifying its status, the light will switch to green and the display will show an electric vehicle and the current time. The station is ready and awaits identification from the user in order to begin charging.

Communication accessories These charging stations have an RS-485 data bus, and the JOINON Parking stations have two RJ45 connectors that allow a RS-485 connection between different stations. All the charging stations can be accessed either locally or remotely. For remote connection they use an external modem located in the installation or a modem supplied in the charging station if requested upon placing the order.

This jumper must be removed in all the intermediate stations of the communication ring and installed at the end stations.

Operation The main function of the charging station is to supply and measure electrical energy for users that have prior authorization by an RFID card reader system (authentication and power measurement not available in JOINON Home). This section describes the operation of the charging station in detail.

Energy meter communication fault (error code 0016) The internal communication with the energy meter is not correct, possibly due to a trip of the protections. Proceed to check the electric installation with a qualified personnel to check if protections have tripped.

    Troubleshooting Gewiss 12. Troubleshooting This section provides a guide for troubleshooting problems that may arise in the installation and operation of charging stations. Troubleshooting must be performed by qualified personnel in compliance with the general safety instructions in this manual.

It may be necessary to replace the contactor. Contact the telephone support service. If no voltage is present The problem may originate from the control card.
