4 - Before First Use Remove the parts from the packaging. Prior to initial use, wash the grill surface in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. CAUTION! Remove the grill plates (see the Cleaning and Care section on page 17) before washing.

Positioning the Grill: WARNING! DO NOT place the Grill against a wall or against other appliances. Leave at least 10cm free space on the back and sides and 10cm free space above the appliance. This grill can be used in either its regular position, with a lid, or laid flat, as an open grill.

Note: The pre-heating time for this unit is approximately 3 minutes. Once the unit has finished pre-heating, the blue light indicator will become solid and the amber Start to Cook light will come on and begin to flash. This indicates the food can now be inserted into the unit. Note: Place the food as close to the centre of the grilling plates as possible to ensure optimum results.

Once a pre-set has been selected, all the coloured indicators on the unit’s LCD screen will light up at once and begin to flash, to indicate the pre-set cooking cycle is ready to start. When this occurs, press the OK button to begin the automatic cooking cycle.

Manual Mode: In addition to the Smart cooking feature, the unit also allows for manual grilling, to suit individual preference. Press the ‘M’ button on the unit’s control panel when the grill is in operation to select the Manual cooking mode. There will be a sound prompt and all the indicator lights on the unit’s LCD screen will become solid at once then begin to flash in sequence.
