Installation of columns

4.2.1

Erecting columns

1. Connect the base panels as specified by the connec-
tor manufacturer.
!
The base panels must make full surface contact.
i
Shear connectors are not included in the scope of
delivery. 12x M16 shear connectors are required
(refer to Section 3.4). Use can also be made of other
makes insofar as these are officially approved for
concrete and their properties meet the minimum
requirements indicated in Section 3.3.
2. Erect the lifting columns perpendicularly.
!
The erected columns should never be inwardly incli-
ned. A slight outward inclination of the columns (up
to 10 mm) is advisable.
i
Additional equalizing elements may be required bet-
ween the floor and lifting column base plate.
3. Fit the cable suspension device.
4. Route the secondary column connecting cables
through the suspension device to the main column.
4.2.2

Fitting support arms

1. With the lifting carriages lowered, pull the offset
sides of the locking rods out of the lifting carriage
until approx. 40 mm is still left on the other side.
2. Thoroughly grease the mounting pin. The hole for the
bolt is however not to be greased.
3. On the lower locking rods, turn the offset section
upwards and engage on engaging the support arms.
4. After engaging the support arms, use pliers to turn
the brackets of the upper locking rods into the hole.
5. Secure the locking rods.
4.2.3
Securing support arms to prevent unintentio-
nal disengagement
Secure the outer bearings with safety hexagon bolts on
the mounting pins such that there is still a gap of bet-
ween 1 and 2 mm between the outer bearing and the
bolt head.
!
The full locking effect of the self-locking bolts is only
attained after 24 hours.

Fitting tensioning strap

1. Lubricate the spindles with spindle oil.
2. Fit the tensioning strap.
3. Lubricate the platform on the basis of the lubrication
chart (see next page).
!
There must be sufficient clearance between the gui-
de fittings for the tensioning strap and the columns
to ensure that the tensioning strap cannot become
trapped and be damaged.
i
If the tensioning strap makes a "humming" noise
during lifting, lubricate the back of the strap with a
small quantity of multi-purpose grease.
"
This completes mechanical installation.
