Press the battery cover release button. Slide off the battery cover. If the battery is inserted, remove it. Remove your SIM card from its packaging. Hold the SIM card with the metal contacts facing down so that the notches on the card align with the notches in the SIM card holder on your handheld.

If your handheld does not connect, open the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Click Options > Connection Settings. In the drop-down list, click the correct port.
