Proceed exactly as for ·the right cylinder except
that the strobe lamp cable is con n ected to the
left cyl inder spark plug.
With the engine running at 5000 -:- 5500 rp m . ,
mark «2» on the flywheel should show u p at the
center of inspection slot «B».
Ignition data
M aximu m advance : 35° at 5000-5500 rpm.
Clearance A between rotor block and the pick­

up metal ends: 0.1 5 ..;- 0.20 (.005 9 - .0079").
Ignition checkings are best carried out b y our
dealers.

Spark plugs to be used are : M arelli CW 9 PL -
Bosch W 260 T 30 - Lodge 2 HLN. Points gap :
0.6 mm (0.023 in.). I n re-fitting the spark plugs
ensure they are properly started by hand for a
few turns completing the operation by means of
the plug wrench in the tool kit.
For all e v e n t s , the plugs h ave to be replaced
every 10. 000 km (6000 mi a.) even if they still
appear to be in good con d itions.
