    About ADSL testing About ADSL testing The SmartClass ADSL/Copper Tester offers a suite of testing options, including ping, FTP, trace route, VCC scan, and others. All of these testing options are described in this document, but not all options are supported with all versions of the product.

This screen reports any ping requests that were sent to you. This counter runs continuously in the back- ground, and shows the last address that sent a PING to the ADSL/Copper Tester, and the number of PINGs received.

    The Virtual Circuit Connections (VCC) scan is designed to look for remote ATM activity on preprogrammed VCs, such as OAM loopback cells from the NOC. The SmartClass ADSL/Copper Tester does not generate this traffic during the test and requires a remote traffic source. VCC (virtual circuit connection) scan helps verify ATM provisioning by checking for ATM cell activity on five ATM VPI/ VCI combinations.
