Periodic Maintenance
Periodic inspection, adjustment, and lubrication will keep your motorcycle in the
safest and most efficient condition possible. Safety is an obligation of the motor-
cycle operator and owner. Some important points of motorcycle inspection, adjust-
ment, and lubrication are explained in the following pages.
WARNING: If you are not experienced in motorcycle service, this work
should be done by a qualified Victory dealer.
Proper periodic maintenance of your motorcycle is important in order to enjoy long,
pleasurable service. Especially important are the maintenance services related to
emissions control. These controls not only function to ensure cleaner air but are
also vital to proper engine operation and maximum performance. In the following
tables of periodic maintenance, the services related to emissions control are
grouped separately. These services require specialized data, knowledge and
equipment. Victory dealers are trained and equipped to perform these particular
services.
Tool Kit
The information provided concerning periodic maintenance is intended to provide
necessary but limited information to assist you to complete some of your own pre-
ventive maintenance and minor repairs. The tools provided are meant only to as-
sist with some of the preventive maintenance duties. Additional tools may be re-
quired to perform some maintenance tasks.
WARNING: Modifications to this motorcycle not approved by Victory may
cause loss of performance, excessive emissions, reduce reliability, and make the
machine unsafe for use. Consult a Victory dealer before making any changes.
