In the same manner as step 1, remove the viewfinder
shoe of the camera from the front-rear positioning
mechanism.

Using the two bolts (M4 × 8) and the washers removed
from the camera in step 2, attach the rotation
mechanism assembly of the BKW-401 to the camera.

Adjusting the Shoulder Pad Position

You can shift the shoulder pad from its center position
(factory setting) backward by up to 10 mm or forward by
up to 25 mm. This adjustment helps you get the best
balance for shooting with the camcorder on your shoulder.

Preparations
Adjusting procedure
1
Raise the lever in the center of the shoulder pad to
unlock the shoulder pad.

Slide the shoulder pad backward or forward until it is
in the most convenient position.

Bring down the lever to lock the shoulder pad in the
selected position.

Mounting the Camera to a Tripod

Mount the camera to a tripod using a VCT-14 Tripod
Adaptor.
Caution
Hexagon
• Select an appropriate hole from among those at the
socket bolts
(M4 × 8)
bottom of the tripod adaptor considering the balance of
the weight of the camera and the tripod adaptor. If an
inappropriate hole is selected, the camera may fall over.
• Check that the size of the selected hole matches that of
the screw of the tripod. If they do not match, the tripod
adaptor cannot be attached to the tripod securely.
Mounting procedure

Attach the tripod adaptor to the tripod and secure it
with the screw.
