Input/Output

The Iridium Edge Pro has two Digital or Analog inputs (IN_1 and IN_2) and two Digital
Input/Outputs (IO_3 and IO_4). Refer to the Iridium Edge Pro Hardware Developer Guide [
Reference 1] for complete details on the I/O interface as well as the IO_RET1 and IO_RET2
ground return that can be optionally used with the I/Os.
The TIC supports both Remote I/O testing and Local I/O testing. With Remote testing, the Iridium
Edge Pro I/Os are connected directly to external devices, remote from the TIC. With Local the TIC
provides test capabilities to both monitor digital I/Os or set digital and analogue inputs. The switch
settings as defined in Table 4-1: Local/Remote Selection Switchescan be set to LOCAL or
REMOTE.
