4. Troubleshooting Guide

Problem
Cannot lift load
Load is shifting
tractor if loose.

OPERATION
Possible Cause
Insufficient power to lift load.
Hitch is not properly attached to
to Skid Steer/Tractor.
Load is being carried too high.
Traveling and/or turning too fast.
Traveling sideways to an incline.
Load is not centered in the bucket.
Traveling with teeth level or tilted
down at the front.
Teeth are bent.
Traveling forward while going down
an incline with a slope in excess of
10% (5.7 degrees).
The load's center of gravity is not
centered in the bucket.
Load is too heavy for the bucket.
Ramming into the ground
or load.
Striking solid objects with the bucket.
Prying objects out of the ground.
Hooking teeth on a solid
object below ground such as tree
roots and rocks.
Wedging objects between the
teeth.

Remedy
Reduce load on or switch to a
Skid Steer or Tractor that is rated for
more lift capacity.
Always make certain hitch is
properly attached before lifting
load. Reattach hitch to skid steer/
Recommended carrying height is as
hitting objects.
Reduce speed to a safe
non-bouncing speed.
Travel straight up and down inclines.
Center load in Bucket.
Rotate teeth back so that the ends at
the front are slightly higher than at
the back.
Straighten bent teeth.
Back down steep inclines.
Reposition load so that the load's
center of gravity is centered in the
Bucket.
Lift lighter loads.
Never ram with the bucket.
Watch for objects while moving and
allow clearance when making turns.
Inspect area thoroughly before
working in it and place markers,
such as flags, to indicate potential
hazards.
Never use to pry objects.
Never run teeth under ground
to get under a load.
Do not wedge objects between the
teeth.
