Brazed Plate Evaporator

The optional shell and tube condensers are independent, cleanable shell and tube
types with copper inner tubing and a steel shell.
The brazed plate evaporator is constructed as corrugated channel plates with filler
material between each plate. The filler material forms a brazed joint at every contact
point on the plates creating complex channels. This allows fluid to come into close
proximity of the cold refrigerant, separated only by channel plates, tthat enable heat
from one fluid to be transferred to the other with very high efficiency, but without
gaskets and frame parts.
Models with the brazed plate heat exchanger are typically made of SAE Grade 316
stainless steel and 99.9% copper brazing materials. Interconnecting headers are
carbon steel.
Note: A optional configuration with shell and tube evaporators having a carbon
steel outer shell and copper tubing may be found in some chillers.
