Registering the handsets
The handsets need to be registered on the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP before
they can be used.
Please note that no more than 8 handsets can be registered on the LINK
2800 DECT/GAP.
Proceed as follows to register the handsets:
1. Connect the AC adapter to your LINK 2800 DECT/GAP. Insert the AC
adapter into a mains socket.
2. During the registration process, the handset should be located close
to the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP or the connected aerial.
3. Start the registration procedure on the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP by
pressing the Register button until the LED starts flashing.
4. Start the registration procedure on your handset. This process is
described in the operating instructions for your handset or your BOX
GAP 300/5000. Use 0000 as the PIN or access code (AC).
5. The registration process is complete when the LED is off. The handset
is automatically assigned the next free internal phone number (from 1-
8). If the registration process has not been successfully completed
within around 1 minute, repeat the process.
6. To register further handsets, repeat steps 2-5.

Programming mode
Programming mode on the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP can only be activated
within the first 10 minutes after plugging in the power supply unit. This
prevents the parameters being changed accidentally during operation.
Programming mode allows you to set various parameters to modify the
LINK 2800 DECT/GAP to suit the functionality of your telephone
connections. Additional parameters allow the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP to
be set according to your personal preferences.

Activating programming mode

To activate the programming mode, select
Then enter the PIN for your LINK 2800 DECT/GAP. The PIN only needs
to be entered if a new PIN has been set up beforehand in programming
mode.
You will now hear a special dialling tone indicating that programming
mode is active.

Setting parameters in programming mode

Programming mode needs to be activated before the following
parameters can be set. The function programming process is concluded

by entering
and confirmed by the positive acknowledgement tone. The
change will be effective immediately. You will then hear the special dialling
tone once more, which means that you can continue programming other
functions.
If an invalid value is entered during programming, a negative
acknowledgement tone is sounded, the procedure is cancelled and you
will hear the special dialling tone once more.
If during programming no input is made for one minute, the procedure is
cancelled and you will hear the special dialling tone again.
Programming mode can be exited at any time by replacing the handset;
the LINK 2800 DECT/GAP will then be returned to normal mode.
