GENERaL
In the General
General section, verify the following information:
Status - displays the connection status of the network.

Network – displays the type of network connection.

Connection Type
Connection Type - displays the type of connection
interface.
Physical Address
Physical Address - displays the physical address of the
network card used for the network.
MTU
MTU - displays the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU)
indicating the largest packet size permitted for internet
transmissions:
Automatic
Automatic: sets the MTU (Maximum Transmission
Unit) at 1500.
Automatic by DHCP
Automatic by DHCP: sets the MTU according to the
DHCP connection.
Manual
Manual: allows you to manually set the MTU.
Internet Protocol
Internet Protocol
In the Internet Protocol section, specify one of the
following:
No IPv4 Address: the connection has no IP address.
No IPv4 Address
This is useful if the connection operates under a
bridge.
Obtain an IPv4 Address Automatically: the network
Obtain an IPv4 Address Automatically
connection is required by Verizon to obtain an IP
address automatically. The server assigning the IP
