System Overview

Installing the optional PRA-BD11 (SDI AES/EBU input board) and PRA-BD12 (SDI AES/
EBU output board) on your DVD recorder will provide industrial video/audio interface
support, allowing you to import SDI signals and AES/EBU signals from a industrial VTR,
and export the same kinds of signals to a industrial VTR or video monitor.

Note:
Use 5C-2V (characteristic impedance: 75-ohm) or equivalent coaxial cable with a BNC
plug to connect PRA-BD11 and PRA-BD12 to industrial VTR or video monitor equipment.
The AES/EBU connectors on this unit are 75-ohm unbalanced BNC connectors.
Use an audio line converter or the equivalent capable of appropriate impedance conversion
when balanced – unbalanced conversion is required.
* SDI (Serial Digital Interface):
A serial interface for a digital video transport method based on the SMPTE 259 M standard.
** AES/EBU (Audio Engineering Society/European Broadcasting Union):
An industrial mode digital audio interface based on the IEC 958 standard.
