Bulk Charging (A)
The battery is charged with maximum current until the battery has reached approxi-
mately 80 % full capacity. (The limit for the Boost or Equalize mode).
Constant Charging (B)
The battery charger switches to charging the battery with a constant voltage which
results in a gradual reduction in the charging current. The charging voltage depends
on whether the battery charger is in Boost or Equalize mode:
Boost
The battery is given a topping charge for up to 2 hours. This is done by charging the
battery with a gradually reducing charging current which saturates the battery for
maximum capacity.
Equalize
Once a month the battery charger will select to recondition the battery (not AGM/
GEL). This is done by charging the battery with a higher than normal voltage. Re-
conditioning the battery desulphates the plates of the battery and hinders the stratifi-
cation of the battery acid.
Float Charging (C)
The battery is maintenance charged with a constant low voltage. If the battery is put
under load and the terminal voltage drops, a new charging cycle will begin.
Temperature Compensation Coefficient
Description
Temperature Compensation Coefficient (TEMPCO)*
The controller will equalize the battery once a month.
