he following operating instructions are important for the Ricon S2000/5000 Series™ Wheelchair Lift. Please
read this section carefully before operating the lift. Lift operation should never be attempted until the lift user
reads and thoroughly understands the operating instructions.
IT IS THE WHEELCHAIR OCCUPANT'S AND/OR ATTENDANT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CAREFULLY FOLLOW
ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN THIS MANUAL (SEE SECTION III.A.) WHEN OPERATING THE LIFT.

Powerful integrated valve hydraulic pump.
Easy to use manual backup system.
Simple electrical system is nearly maintenance free.
Skid-resistant platform.
The S-Series™ wheelchair lift is rated for loads up to 800 lbs (364 Kg). Available platform sizes
accommodate most manual and power wheelchairs.

  • Page 2 Inspect the lift prior to each use. Check for loose nuts and bolts. If any unsafe condition exists, DO NOT use the lift. Return the lift to an authorized Ricon Dealer for repair. • Wheelchair brakes are less effective if the wheels or lift platform are wet. Use extreme care in wet conditions.

  • Page 5 E. LIFT OPERATION • Before operating lift, be certain vehicle is safely parked on a level area away from traffic. Allow enough space for lift operation and passenger boarding. • Open door(s) completely. Operator must take special care to ensure that the area is clear before deploying lift.
  • Page 6 LOWER PLATFORM - Push and hold UP/DOWN switch in the DOWN position until the platform reaches the ground level completely. Unfasten occupant restraint belt, release wheelchair brakes, and carefully exit platform. 3. TO STOW PLATFORM: NOTE: The occupant restraint belt must be fastened to enable STOW/DEPLOY and UP/DOWN functions. The lift will not operate unless this safety mechanism is properly engaged.
  • Page 7 • Turn handle extension ¼ turn counter-clockwise once again and hold valve OPEN until the platform reaches the ground level completely. Turn handle clockwise to CLOSE valve.
