7. Remove the clutch cable end adjuster (1).
8. Apply multi-purpose grease to the clutch cable
end adjuster inside surface.

9. Recheck clutch lever freeplay and adjust as
necessary (page 59).
If the clutch lever operation is not smooth, replace
the clutch cable.
Clutch Disc/Plate Removal
1. Drain the engine oil (page 49).
2. Remove the six clutch cover bolts (1) and
clutch cover (2).

3. Remove the six clutch spring bolts and springs
(3).
Loosen the bolts in a crisscross pattern in two or
three progressive steps.
4. Remove the clutch pressure plate (4).

5. Check the operation of the bearing (5) with
your finger. The bearing should turn smoothly
and quietly.

If the operation is not smooth, refer to an official
Honda Service Manual (page 160) for bearing
disassembly or see your dealer.
6. Remove the clutch lifter (6) first, then remove
the clutch lifter rod (7).
