Mount front USB ports, no IP6x
You can install 1-2 USB ports with article number 6AV7674-1LX00-0AA0 on the front of the keyboard tray. In delivery state,
the associated openings are screwed to corresponding covers from the inside.
If IP6x degree of protection is not required during operation, you can use the front USB ports.
Proceed as follows to mount a USB port on the front:
1. Loosen the nut of the USB cover on the inside
of the keyboard tray.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Place the USB port into the opening.
4. Fasten the USB port. Tighten the associated
nut with a torque of 2.5 Nm.
Mounting the USB extension on rear with M20 cable gland, IP6x
You can install 1-2 M20 cable glands on the rear of the keyboard tray. In delivery state, the associated openings are
screwed to corresponding covers on the outside. Always use the M20 cable glands at the rear when operating with IP6x
degree of protection.
The following procedure schematically presents how to mount a USB extension with M20 cable gland to the rear of the
keyboard tray.
1. Unscrew the cover of a rear M20 opening of
the keyboard tray.
2. Guide the USB connector of the USB
extension through the M20 opening of the
keyboard tray.
3. Tighten the nut on the male thread of the M20
cable gland with a torque of 2.5 Nm.
4. To connect a USB device, remove the cover
cap of the USB extension and connect a
suitable USB device.
If you connect a USB device with an IP6x plug
to the USB connector of the USB extension,
screw the USB plug and USB socket using
the torque specified in the corresponding
documentation.
