Overview

The BKPF-105A and BKPF-205/205R video/audio
multiplexer boards and the BKPF-106A and BKPF-
206/206R video/audio demultiplexer boards are
designed to be installed and operated in the PFV-D20,
PFV-D50, PFV-D100A, PFV-D200A or PFV-D300
digital video interface unit. The necessary operating
power is supplied via the interface unit.
All these boards conform to the format of the EDH
(Error Detection and Handling) system and that of the
ISR (Interactive Status Reporting) system.
They are compatible in structure and power voltage
with other optional boards designed for the PFV-D20/
D50/D100A/D200A/D300 digital video interface unit.
The boards can be mounted in these interface units in
any combination.
Note
For setting the switches on the boards, consult a
qualified service technician.

Functions of the BKPF-105A

The BKPF-105A is a video/audio multiplexer board
that mutiplexes AES/EBU-format digital audio signals
with a 4:2:2 component or 4fsc NTSC composite serial
digital video signal.
With a single BKPF-105A board, multiplexing of
audio signals of 2 pairs/4 channels is achieved, and the
multiplexed signal is supplied to two outputs.
For a 4:2:2 component serial digital signal, another 2
pairs/4 channels can be added for multiplexing of a
total of 4 pairs/8 channels by cascading two BKPF-
105A boards.
This board is also equipped with a word sync output
connector for synchronized operation with the BKPF-
201 audio A/D converter board, etc.
Serial digital video signal selection
Switching between 4:2:2 component and 4fsc NTSC
composite is achieved via the internal D1/D2 (SDI
signal selection) switch on the board.
Note
Because of the limited space to indicate the signal
formats, 4:2:2 component is referred to as "D1" and
4fsc composite as "D2" in the indications on the board.
Multiplexing audio group selection (with 4:2:2
component serial digital video signal
selected)
For a 4:2:2 component serial digital video signal, it can
be determined whether the audio signals of 2 pairs/4
channels supplied to the AES/EBU IN connectors are
to be multiplexed as group 1 (channels 1 to 4) or as
group 2 (channels 5 to 8), using the internal GP1/GP2
(audio group selection) switch on the board.
Note
It is possible to multiplex digital audio signals of group
2 only with a 4:2:2 component serial digital signal on
which digital audio signals of group 1 have already
been multiplexed.
Thus, if two boards are to be cascaded, set the first
board for group 1 and the second for group 2.
Multiplexing audio channel selection
Multiplexing of audio signals can be canceled
individually for each channel pair, channels 1/2 (or 5/6
in group 2) or channels 3/4 (or 7/8 in group 2) with an
internal switch setting.
