Bitte lesen Sie die vorliegende Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch. Bei
Fragen wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Fachhandel von dem Sie dieses
Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
Zweckbestimmung
Bei diesem Medizinprodukt handelt es sich um eine Sprunggelenksorthese
zur Stabilisierung des oberen und unteren Sprunggelenks in einer
Ebene, einstellbar. Die Orthese besteht aus elastischem Material und
Stabilisierungselementen aus starrem Material.
Indikationen
Postoperative Protektion nach Bandnaht / -rekonstruktion, konservative
Therapie von Sprunggelenkdistorsionen und Bandrupturen, Ruhigstellung
bei entzündlichen Reizzuständen, Rheuma, Arthritis, Tendinitiden,
Bandverletzungen.
Kontraindikationen
Thrombosegefahr, hochgradige Varikosis, periphere arterielle
Verschlusskrankheit (PAVK), Lymphabflussstörungen auch unklare
Weichteilschwellungen körperfern des angelegten Hilfsmittels, Empfindungs-
und Durchblutungsstörungen der versorgten Körperregion, Erkrankungen der
Haut im versorgten Körperabschnitt.
Anwendungsrisiken / Wichtige Hinweise
Dieses Medizinprodukt ist ein verordnungsfähiges Produkt. Sprechen Sie
Anwendung und Dauer mit Ihrem verordnenden Arzt ab. Die Auswahl der
geeigneten Größe und eine Einweisung erfolgt durch das Fachpersonal, von
dem Sie das Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
– Medizinprodukt vor radiologischen Untersuchungen ablegen
– Wurde das Tragen bei Nacht angeordnet, Beeinträchtigungen des
Blutkreislaufs vermeiden.
– bei Taubheitsgefühl Medizinprodukt lockern oder ggf. abnehmen
– bei anhaltenden Beschwerden den Arzt oder Fachhandel aufsuchen
– Medizinprodukt indikationsgerecht einsetzen
– gleichzeitige Nutzung anderer Produkte nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt
– keine Änderungen am Produkt vornehmen
– nicht auf offenen Wunden tragen
– nicht verwenden bei Unverträglichkeiten gegen eines der verwendeten
Materialien
– kein Wiedereinsatz – dieses Hilfsmittel ist zur Versorgung eines Patienten
bestimmt
– während der Tragedauer der Orthese: keine lokale Anwendung von Cremes
oder Salben im Bereich des angelegten Hilfsmittels – kann Material
zerstören.
Anziehanleitung
Die Schnürung kann beim Anlegen durch die verwendeten Haken-Ösen-
Elemente wahlweise durch die Ösen durchgeführt, oder an den Haken
eingehängt werden.
Die Knöchelorthese so schließen, dass die Stütze gut anliegt, aber keine
Stauung verursacht. Das beigelegte Stabilo-Band kann auf zwei Arten
eingesetzt werden.

Bei Supination:
Verletzungsart: Supinationstrauma, Umknicken mit Überdehnung des
Bandapparates am Außenknöchel.
Ziel: Heben des Fußaußenrandes (Stabilo-Band zieht den Fußaußenrand
hoch). Hierzu wird das Stabilo-Band im Bereich des Innenknöchels
aufgeklettet, mit leichtem Zug unter der Fußsohle nach außen durchgeführt
und anschließend diagonal über den Fußrücken hinweg zur Innenseite der
Bandage geführt und dort festgeklettet.

Intended purpose

This medical device is an adjustable ankle brace for the stabilisation of the
upper and lower ankle joint on one plane. The brace consists of elastic
material and stabilisation elements made of rigid material.

Indications

Post-operative protection after ligament suture/reconstruction, conservative
treatment of ankle distortions and ligament ruptures, immobilisation in the
case of inflammatory conditions, rheumatism, arthritis, tendinitis, ligament
injuries.

Contraindications

Thrombosis risk, extreme varicosis, peripheral arterial occlusive disease
(PAOD), lymph drainage disorders, also unclear soft tissue swellings distal to
the aid positioned, sensory and circulatory disorders of the region of the body
treated, skin diseases in the part of the body treated.

Application risks/Important notes

This medical device is a prescribable product. Discuss the use and duration
with your treating physician. The expert staff from whom you have received
the medical device will select the appropriate size and instruct you regarding
its use.
– remove the medical device prior to radiological examinations
– if wearing at night is prescribed, avoid negative influence on the circulatory
system
– in case of numbness, loosen the medical device and remove it if necessary
– in case of persistent complaints, consult the physician or specialist retailer
– use the medical device in accordance with therapeutic needs
– only use other products simultaneously after consultation with your physician
– do not make any changes to the product
– do not wear it on open wounds
– do not use in case of intolerance of one of the materials used
– no re-use – this medical aid is intended for treating one patient
– whilst wearing the brace, please neither use any creams nor ointments on
or around it as they destory the material

Fitting instructions

Lacing can be carried out when putting it on using the hook and eyelet
elements or optionally through the eyelets or the laces can be attached to
the hook.
Close the ankle brace so that the support fits closely but causes no
congestion. The Stabilo strap which is provided offers two modes of use.

For supination:
Type of injury: Supination trauma, twisting with overstretching of the lateral
malleolar ligament system.
Target: Raising the outer edge of the foot (Stabilo straps pull the outer edge of
the foot upwards). For this, the Stabilo strap is attached under slight tension in
the inner ankle region using Velcro guided outwards under the sole of the foot
and then diagonally away from the instep area to the inner side of the support.

Bei Pronation:
Verletzungsart: Pronationstrauma, Umknicken mit Überdehnung des
Bandapparates am Innenknöchel.
Ziel: Heben des Fußinnenrandes (Stabilo-Band zieht den Fußinnenrand hoch).
Hierzu wird das Stabilo-Band im Bereich des Außenknöchels aufgeklettet, mit
leichtem Zug unter der Fußsohle nach innen durchgeführt und anschließend
diagonal über den Fußrücken hinweg zur Außenseite der Bandage geführt und
dort festgeklettet.
Ablegen
Zum Ablegen der BORT Stabilo Knöchelstütze öffnen Sie zuerst das Stabilo-
Band, anschließend öffnen Sie die Schnürung komplett.
Tipp: Schließen Sie die Klettverschlüsse, um einen frühzeitigen Verschleiß der
Klettfläche zu vermeiden.
Materialzusammensetzung
Polyamid (PA), Polyester (PES), Polyethylen (PE), Elasthan (EL)
Die genaue Materialzusammensetzung entnehmen Sie bitte dem eingenähten
Textiletikett.
Reinigungshinweise
Handwäsche Nicht chemisch reinigen
Nicht im Wäschetrockner trocknen
Keinen Weichspüler verwenden. In Form ziehen und an der Luft trocknen.
Klettverschlüsse schließen, um die Beschädigung anderer Wäschestücke zu
vermeiden.
Gewährleistung
Für das erworbene Produkt gelten die gesetzlichen Bestimmungen des
Landes, in dem Sie das Produkt bezogen haben. Bitte wenden Sie sich
an Ihren Fachhandel, sollten Sie einen Gewährleistungsfall vermuten.
Bitte das Produkt vor Einreichung eines Gewährleistungsfalles reinigen.
Wurden beiliegende Hinweise der Gebrauchsanweisung nicht ausreichend
beachtet, so kann die Gewährleistung beeinträchtigt werden bzw. entfallen.
Ausgeschlossen ist eine Gewährleistung bei nicht indikationsgerechter
Anwendung, Nichtbeachtung der Anwendungsrisiken, -hinweise sowie
eigenmächtig vorgenommenen Änderungen am Produkt.
Nutzungsdauer / Lebensdauer des Produkts
Die Lebensdauer des Medizinprodukts wird durch den natürlichen Verschleiß
bei sach- und anwendungsgemäßem Umgang bestimmt.
Meldepflicht
Kommt es bei der Anwendung des Medizinproduktes zu einer
schwerwiegenden Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszustandes, dann
melden Sie dies Ihrem Fachhändler oder uns als Hersteller sowie dem BfArM
(Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte).

For pronation:

Removal

To remove the BORT Stabilo Ankle Support, first open the Stabilo strap, then
open the laces fully.
Tip: Close the Velcro fasteners in order to avoid early wear to the Velcro surface.

The sewn in textile label provides the precise material composition.

Cleaning information

Hand-washing Do not clean chemically
Do not dry in a tumble dryer
Do not use fabric conditioner. Stretch back into shape and dry in the fresh air.
Close the Velcro fastenings to avoid damage to other laundry items.

Guarantee

The legal regulations of the country in which you acquired the product apply
to the purchased product. Please contact your specialist retailer if you suspect
a warranty claim. Please clean the product before submitting a warranty
claim. If the enclosed instructions for use have not been properly observed,
the warranty may be impaired or cancelled. The warranty does not cover use
of the product inappropriate for the indication, non-observance of application
risks, instructions and unauthorised modifications to the product.

Useful life/Lifetime of the product

The lifetime of the medical device is determined by its natural wear and tear if
treated appropriately and as recommended.

Duty of notification

If a serious worsening of the state of health occurs when using the
medical device, you are obliged to notify the specialist dealer or us as the
manufacturer and the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency
(MHRA).

Disposal
