Version check and update process

- Release the [REPEAT] and [DISP] buttons once you see the "Program Update - Now
Checking File" display.
- After reading the update file, the R-44 will display a prompt that shows the old and new
versions:
Your R-44 may show other old and update version numbers.
NOTE:
- Begin the update process by pressing the [ENTER] button.
Do not remove the SD card or power down the R-44 until the update process is
complete!
- When the update process is complete, the [PLAY] button will blink.
- Power down the R-44.
- Confirm the new System version by performing the Version Check procedure.
You can delete the MAIN.BIN update file from your SD card by plugging the card back into
your computer and manually deleting it.
Update Failure Codes
If a problem occurs during the update, a message may appear on the screen:
INVALID FILE!!
The update file is corrupt or was not copied correctly. Re-format the SD card, copy the
MAIN.BIN file to its root directory and re-do the update procedure.
NO FILE!!
No update file is present. Confirm the MAIN.BIN file is in the root directory of the SD card.
NO CARD!!
No SD card is inserted. Make sure the SD card with its MAIN.BIN is in the R-44.
FLASH WRITE ERROR!!
An error occurred while writing to flash memory. Redo the update from the
beginning. If the error occurs even after re-doing the procedure, the flash memory may have
a problem. Contact Roland Support at 1-800-380-2580.
